Meta Can’t Dodge Mental Health Patients’ Pixel Privacy Claims

Meta Platforms Inc. lost its bid for an early escape from a proposed class action accusing it of tracking mental health patients online even though they didn’t have Facebook accounts.

Two anonymous plaintiffs who said they were unaware Meta was collecting their sensitive health data from digital therapy provider Cerebral sufficiently alleged violations of California statutes and common law to proceed, Judge William H. Orrick said Monday in denying the company’s dismissal motion in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
