Maximus Federal Services Hit With MOVEit Data Breach Lawsuit

Maximus Federal Services Inc. was accused in a new proposed federal class action of failing to protect the personal information of more than 612,000 patients that was exposed in a May data breach involving its use of the MOVEit file-transfer application.

The cyberattack on Progress Software’s MOVEit application, allegedly carried out by the Clop criminal hacking group, has resulted in the theft of data from dozens of organizations and government agencies in the US and Europe. Notable victims include oil giant Shell PLC and British Airways, along with banks, manufacturing firms, and universities.
