Match Group, OkCupid Reach FTC Agreement on Data Protection

OkCupid and its affiliate Match Group Americas allegedly deceived users by sharing their personal information with a third party despite privacy promises to protect the data, according to a proposed settlement filed by the Federal Trade Commission on Monday.

The FTC order prohibits the companies from misrepresenting how they collect and disclose personal data, including photos and demographic and geolocation data.
