Match Faces Probe Over Dating Photos’ Alleged Use in Database

Online dating company Match Group Inc. is under pressure from the Federal Trade Commission to cooperate with an investigation into whether its OkCupid app illegally shared data with a facial recognition company.

The FTC is asking a federal court to enforce its demand for documents related to a 2014 incident in which Clarifai Inc. allegedly used images obtained from OkCupid to build a database for training its facial recognition technology, according to a filing in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
