Marsh & McLennan Employee Advances Lawsuit Over 2021 Data Breach

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. must face one claim of a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 7,000 people that was exposed in a 2021 data breach.

Plaintiff Shantel Jones adequately pleaded the elements of a breach-of-implied-contract claim under New York law, Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Wednesday.
