Groups that represent thousands of companies including Alphabet Inc.'s Google, Amazon.com Inc., are asking California’s attorney general to clarify the state’s new privacy law regarding whether consumers can opt out of some, but not necessarily all, data sales.
“We have notable concerns around the likely negative impact on California consumers and businesses from some of the specific language in the law,” five advertising and marketing trade groups wrote in a letter dated Jan. 31 to state Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D).
