Mandiant Says It’s Not Working With ICBC After Cyberattack

Cybersecurity firm Mandiant is not working with Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. following a ransomware attack at the state-owned lender’s financial services unit.

• “After initial discussions with ICBC about potentially taking on this incident response, an agreement was not reached,” a spokesperson for Mandiant said in an email. “Since Mandiant was not under a retainer with ICBC, or any of its subsidiaries, no further action was taken.”
