A Black attorney can pursue a retaliation lawsuit that says Major, Lindsey & Africa LLC declined to help her find work after she sued Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP for purported race discrimination, a federal judge ruled.

Gita Sankano’s suit adequately pleaded claims against the legal recruiting company under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Maryland Human Relations Act, the US District Court for the District of Maryland said Monday.
