Luxottica Sued Over Data Sharing With Google, Meta, Others

California residents sued eyewear giant Luxottica of America Inc. for allegedly tracking their online activity through third-party cookies even after they rejected such tracking on the company’s websites.

Brandon Moore, Daniel Aldana, and Hope Kambick filed the proposed class action in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The plaintiffs claim Luxottica violated California Invasion of Privacy Act by allowing companies like Google LLC, Meta Platforms Inc., Adobe Inc. collect their browsing data after they opted out of cookies on the sites, which include Oakley.com, LensCrafters.com, and Ray-Ban.com.
