LinkedIn Settles Data Scraping Lawsuit Against Mantheos

LinkedIn Corp. resolved a lawsuit against Singapore-based company Mantheos Pte. Ltd. Monday, after a federal judge in California approved a settlement that requires them to delete all the data they scraped from the site.

LinkedIn sued Mantheos in February, alleging that the company gained authorized access to its website, scraped millions of LinkedIn member profile pages, and used hundreds of fake LinkedIn member accounts and prepaid debit cards under fake names to fraudulently obtain access to LinkedIn Sales Navigator, which provides advanced search capabilities.

The activities defrauded LinkedIn by hundreds of thousands of dollars, the complaint alleges.
