Limited Run Games Inc. is a step closer to paying $2.72 million to settle allegations it improperly shared consumers’ video preferences with tech companies, after the deal received preliminary approval from a federal court.
Two plaintiffs alleged the rare video-game distributor violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing with Meta Platforms and other third parties information sufficient to learn what video games or merchandise a consumer is interested in through tracking technologies.
