Legacy Health Patient Advances Suit Over Google Data Sharing

Oregon-based Legacy Health must face most claims in a proposed class action alleging it shared the health information of patients with Google LLC and Meta Platforms Inc. without their consent in violation of federal and state privacy laws.

The plaintiff adequately stated claims of negligence, breach of confidence, unjust enrichment, and violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act concerning activities on the Legacy Health patient portal, Judge Michael H. Simon of the US District Court for the District of Oregon said Thursday.
