Ledger, Shopify Beat Data Breach Class Suit Due to Home Bases

Cryptocurrency wallet provider Ledger SAS beat a potential class action lawsuit over a data breach that exposed its customer list, after a California federal court found it doesn’t have jurisdiction over the French company.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California also dismissed consumer claims brought against Ledger’s e-commerce vendor Shopify Inc. because it’s headquartered in Ottawa, according to the Monday decision from Judge Edward M. Chen.
