Lawmakers Warn Military is Targeted Through Data Brokers (1)

Foreign adversaries need to be stopped from using location data collected and sold by data brokers to target US military members in active war zones, more than a dozen lawmakers said in a letter to the Pentagon Thursday.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-N.C.) led the letter, signed by a dozen other members of Congress from both parties, which urged the Defense Department to prevent the collection and sale of service members’ personal information, including phone location data.
