LastPass User Blames Password Vault for $200,000 Crypto Loss (1)

A LastPass US LP customer said in a federal lawsuit that because of the password manager’s negligence leading to a data breach incident, robbers stole $200,000 of his cryptocurrency.

The anonymous plaintiff said that he had kept with LastPass a seed phrase for his Ethereum, self-custodian wallet, which can be used to regenerate the wallet in case its hardware device is lost or stole. But the plaintiff didn’t receive notices about the password manager’s 2022 data security breaches, according to the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
