Kronos Inc. and plaintiffs have reached a $15.3 million deal in Illinois federal court to resolve allegations the workplace management software company violated the state’s biometric privacy law.
The deal is fair and reasonable and provides meaningful relief given the prospect of costly and uncertain litigation, attorneys representing plaintiffs Charlene Figueroa and Jermaine Burton wrote in a motion in support of preliminary approval of the class action settlement filed Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Attorneys representing Kronos didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
