House Republicans are seeking to advance a legislative package intended to improve the safety of children and teenagers online, but lingering disagreements underscore continued challenges they face for passage.
The House Energy and Commerce Committee will meet Thursday to consider a package that combines 12 bills, including the high-profile Kids Online Safety Act, or KOSA, and measures that require guardrails on gaming platforms, artificial intelligence chatbots, and pornographic sites to protect minors.
