Kenya, S. Africa Cybersecurity Threats Rise Amid Pandemic: Poll

Businesses in South Africa and Kenya have experienced an increased amount of cybersecurity threats since the coronavirus pandemic, according to a survey by Liquid Telecom.

Around 75% of enterprises in Kenya and nearly half of those polled in South Africa reported more threats, with 72% of those citing phishing or social engineering attacks as the biggest threat in the continent’s most southern nation. Meanwhile 47% of the businesses in Kenya attributed their spike to the same factor, a study released Wednesday by the U.K.-based telecommunications company showed.
