Kardashian Shapewear Shoppers Spied on by Meta, Lawsuit Claims

Kim Kardashian’s fashion brand allows Meta Platforms Inc. to “eavesdrop” on shoppers as they browse for underwear and other apparel on the Skims.com website, in violation of California privacy laws, according to a proposed class-action lawsuit.

The suit is the latest challenge to the widespread use of Meta’s Pixel data-tracking technology online. The technology allows customer-facing companies to tap into Meta’s powerful advertising tools.

Monday’s complaint was filed by two California women who accuse Skims of enabling Meta to “eavesdrop on Website visitors’ communications as they conduct searches for intimate wear products.”
