Kaiser Permanente allegedly disclosed patients’ personal information to Google, Microsoft, Twitter and other third parties without their consent in violation of HIPAA and consumer protection laws in California and Washington, a new proposed federal class action said.

John and Jane Doe alleged that Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals Inc., and the Permanente Medical Group Inc., installed tracking software throughout the Kaiser Permanente websites that transmitted patient information to the software providers.
