JetBlue Airways Beats Suit Over Website Surveillance Software

JetBlue Airways Corp. defeated a proposed class lawsuit alleging it used “session replay” software to track the activities of visitors to its website in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.

Plaintiff Anne Lightoller failed to establish that she had suffered an injury in fact, a threshold requirement for standing to sue in federal courts, Judge Marilyn L. Huff of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Monday.

Huff granted JetBlue’s motion to dismiss without leave to amend.
