Four weeks after Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc confirmed having been hit by a crippling cyber attack, its vehicle assembly lines remain at a standstill, triggering concern about the financial health of less-well capitalized suppliers.

Although too late for JLR, its humbling should be a code-red moment for manufacturers: The industrial sector appears worryingly vulnerable to cyber incursions, and the resulting downtime can be financially devastating.
