IT Vendor IntraSystems Sued Over Breach Exposing Patient Data

IT contractor IntraSystems LLC faces a proposed class action accusing it of failing to secure the sensitive information of hundreds of thousands of patients of a health care client that was exposed in a recent data breach.

The Massachusetts-based company was negligent in protecting sensitive data of 293,000 patients of Allegheny Health Networks’ Home Medical Equipment and Home Infusion subsidiary services , according to a complaint filed Jan. 24 in US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
