IT Security Issue at US Health-Care Provider Ripples to Patients

A US health-care provider that runs 140 hospitals is rescheduling some patient appointments as a result of an IT security issue, the company said on Wednesday.

“Our facilities are following existing protocols for system outages and taking steps to minimize the disruption,” CommonSpirit Health said in a statement on its website. The company didn’t detail the issue or say how many people or facilities have so far been affected.

A company representative declined to elaborate.
