Israeli Spyware Company NSO Vows UN Human Rights Compliance

Israeli spyware company NSO Group Ltd., which has been accused of helping authoritarian regimes to suppress critics, said it was increasing oversight of customer deals and adding a whistle-blowing program to comply with United Nations human rights principles.

Rights groups and researchers have for years voiced suspicions that NSO software is abused. The company says its Pegasus product is a highly targeted tool that helps government intelligence and law-enforcement agencies thwart major terrorist attacks, rescue abducted children and stop pedophiles and other criminals.
