Irish Court Rules ‘Three Strikes’ ISP Warning System Does Not Violate Privacy

LONDON—Ireland’s music industry will try to put in place a voluntary “three strikes” warning system with most of Ireland’s leading internet service providers, after winning a judgment June 27 against the Office of Data Protection (ODPC), Derek Doyle, the Director General of the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) said July 3 (EMI Records (Ireland) Ltd. v. The Data Prot. Comm’r).
