Insurance Firm Must Defend Customer in Clearview Biometric Case

Citizens Insurance Co. of America must defend an information technology services company in two proposed biometric class actions because an exclusion cited in the policy doesn’t unambiguously preclude coverage, an Illinois federal judge ruled.

The policy Wynndalco Enterprises LLC purchased covers the lawsuits against the company, and Citizens Insurance also has a duty to defend Wynndalco’s officers, Judge John Z. Lee of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois wrote in a Wednesday opinion.
