Industry Group Added to Litigation Over Trump H-1B Visa Rule

A trade group for information technology companies can join in the defense of a Trump-era rule that overhauled the visa lottery system for skilled foreign workers, a federal district court judge ruled.

A group of workers sued the Department of Homeland Security over the new H-1B visa lottery last year, alleging the regulation has fueled fraud by allowing companies to file multiple registrations on behalf of a single individual. That disadvantages workers for whom an employer has submitted one registration, the plaintiffs argued in their lawsuit.
