Industrial Baker Wins Bid to Pause Biometric Privacy Case

A Chicago-based industrial baking company won its bid to pause a proposed biometric privacy class action levied against it in an Illinois federal court.

Plaintiff Brenda Herron’s lawsuit against Gold Standard Baking Inc. is stayed until the Illinois Appellate Court and Seventh Circuit issue opinions in several cases also involving the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Judge Thomas M. Durkin wrote in an opinion filed April 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
