Indiana AG Opposes Equifax Deal for Limiting State Recovery

Equifax Inc.‘s settlement to resolve data breach claims of 147 million Americans improperly limits recovery by Indiana on behalf of its consumers, Attorney General Curtis T. Hill Jr. told the Northern District of Georgia.

The court should order the parties to change the release language in the settlement to exclude state law enforcement actions or deny final approval, Hill said in an amicus brief docketed Dec. 9.
