India Court Resumes Antitrust Probe on WhatsApp Privacy Policy

The Delhi High Court has rejected petitions by Meta Platform Inc. and the Indian arm of WhatsApp Inc.challenging a probe opened by Competition Commission of India into the messaging platform’s update to privacy policy in 2021.

  • Petitions by WhatsApp and Facebook are devoid of merits and dismissed, a judge pronouncing the verdict said
  • Court also refuses WhatsApp’s request to halt the probe till WhatsApp moves top court against the ruling
