Illinois Hospital Patient Advances Suit Over Meta Info Sharing

Illinois-based Memorial Hospital Association must face some claims of a proposed class action alleging it disclosed the personal information of patients to Meta Platforms Inc., Google LLC, and other third parties in violation of wiretapping laws.

Lead plaintiff Lacey Gittings-Barrera adequately stated claims of negligence, negligence per se, unjust enrichment, and violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Judge Sara L. Darrow of the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois said Sept. 26.
