Hotel Manager Ashford’s $485,000 Data-Breach Deal Gets Final Nod

Ashford Inc. will pay $485,000 to settle a class action alleging it failed to protect with personal information of over 48,000 people that was exposed in a 2023 data breach, under a deal given final approval in federal court.

Judge Ed Kindeade of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted the plaintiffs’ motion for final approval of the settlement in a Wednesday order. Class members will be eligible for a pro rata share of the net settlement fund, reimbursement for up to $2,500 in out-of-pocket losses, and three years of credit-monitoring services, according to the ...
