‘Hiring Robots’ Restrictions Passed by Illinois Legislature

Illinois employers using artificial intelligence platforms during their hiring and recruitment processes would have to seek the consent of job applicants under legislation headed to the desk of Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

Lawmakers voiced unanimous support for House Bill 2557, the Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act. The measure passed the House May 29 and the Senate May 23 without a single no vote.
