HIPAA Privacy Bill Has Health Record Access Rights

The 21st Century Cures Act (H.R. 6) that recently passed the full House includes a new section that emphasizes individuals’ right to access their own health records, an addition one consumer advocate told Bloomberg BNA is a step in the right direction.

The measure, which is intended to speed up the approval of innovative drugs and medical devices, passed in the House July 10 134 Privacy Law Watch, 7/14/15(see related report).
