Health-care payments management firm Intellihartx LLC, known as ITx, faces a proposed class action over a patient data breach blamed on a Russian hacking group’s software exploit.
Almost half a million patients were impacted by the ITx breach, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. It claims the Ohio-based company failed to safeguard and supervise private health-related information, leaving it vulnerable to an attack on a third-party file-transfer system.
