Harrods Latest UK Retailer to Battle Against Hacking Attacks (1)

London’s luxury department store Harrods Ltd. reported hacking attempts Thursday, days after two other UK retailers said they were attacked.

“We recently experienced attempts to gain unauthorized access to some of our systems,” a Harrods spokesperson said in an email. “Our seasoned IT security team immediately took proactive steps to keep systems safe, and as a result, we have restricted internet access at our sites today.”

The retailer said all of its stores, including the flagship Knightsbridge outlet, H beauty stores and airport locations, remain open to customers, and that shoppers may continue to make purchases on its website. It’s ...
