Hacker group BlackSuit claims responsibility for a cyberattack on Kadokawa, Nikkei reports, citing a statement from the group.
- The group says they downloaded 1.5 terabytes of data about a month ago, including the company’s contracts and user information, and they will release the data on July 1 depending on negotiations with Kadokawa
- Kadokawa tells Nikkei that “there is nothing we can say at this point”
- Shares fall as much as 7.4% on trading vol. >2.8x 3-month avg.
- Officials at the company weren’t immediately available for comment when contacted by Bloomberg News
