A British hacker who attacked the network of a Liberian telecommunications company was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
Daniel Kaye admitted to organizing denial of service attacks that affected customers of Lonestar MTN. He was hired by Cellcom, a rival African telecoms company, so it could poach dissatisfied customers, prosecutors said at a sentencing hearing in London.
Judge Alexander Milne said it was a “cynical and financially driven attack on a legitimate business enterprise.”
