Guardian Analytics Hit With Sixth Suit Over December Data Breach

Guardian Analytics Inc. and Webster Bank NA negligently failed to protect the personal information of 197,000 bank customers that was exposed in a late-2022 data breach, a new proposed federal class action said.

Cindy Pereira alleged that Guardian, a provider of anti-fraud services to financial institutions, and Webster failed to implement adequate data security practices and failed to properly monitor their data networks.

Guardian also failed to cooperate with Webster in reviewing and analyzing the stolen data, delaying the bank’s ability to provide timely notice to victims of the breach, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District ...
