Google’s $5.5 Million Pact Over Online Tracking Falters Again

Alphabet Inc.'s Google must try again at finalizing a long-pending $5.5 million settlement over alleged violations of consumers’ privacy online, after a federal judge in Delaware rejected the latest deal.

The class action’s proposed resolution failed to get approval from the the US District Court for the District of Delaware in a Monday ruling issued more than a decade after the case began. The ruling took issue with certifying the class of consumers involved, a necessary step toward approving the agreement.
