Google Tracked Users Who Indicated No Following, Lawsuit Claims

Alphabet Inc.‘s Google allegedly tracked users who in their privacy settings indicated they didn’t want such following to occur, according to a complaint filed today in California.

Google collected information about customer browsing and application use after they turned off “Web & App Activity” in privacy controls, according to claims filed by plaintiffs Anibal Rodriguez and Julieanna Muniz.

The suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California comes as consumers increase their focus on how companies use their data. Facebook Inc. faces similar claims for allegedly tracking users.
