Google Sued by Parents Who Say Apps Track Kids for Targeted Ads

Alphabet Inc.'s Google faces a proposed consumer class action accusing the tech giant of misleading parents about targeting advertisements to children on gaming apps deemed family friendly.

Apps with names such as Fun Kid Racing were “surreptitiously exfiltrating” information from children playing the games via an advertising tool from Google, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The complaint was brought by a group of parents who sued on behalf of children under age 13.
