Golden Corral Corp. negligently failed to protect the sensitive data of the buffet restaurant chain’s employees from being stolen by hackers and waited six months to inform the 180,000 affected, a proposed class action in North Carolina federal court alleged.
Plaintiff Ashley Hunt, a Kentucky resident who began working for the company in 2007, accused the national chain of maintaining inadequate network security resulting in the exposure of her full name and Social Security number, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
