GM, Decibel Insight Beat Suit Over Tracking Website Visitor Data

General Motors and Decibel Insight succeeded in getting a privacy class action thrown out of Delaware federal court, with the judge ruling that tracking GM website visitors’ mouse and keyboard clicks hadn’t been shown to have caused any actual injuries.

Dakotah Massie and Neil Manglani alleged that GM’s use of Decibel’s “Session Replay” software on the company’s website violated user federal and state privacy law by recording website mouse and keyboard movements, together with the date, time, and user’s IP address.
