Germany suspects Russia is behind a cyberattack that targeted top decision makers in Berlin via the Signal messaging app, according to a government official in Berlin.
Those affected by the so-called phishing campaign have been notified and the data leak from their corrupted devices has been stopped, though authorities can’t rule out that others may have been affected, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with government protocol.
