GEICO, Berkshire Hathaway Hit With Proposed Breach Class Action

Government Employees Insurance Co. and parent company Berkshire Hathaway Inc. were slapped with a proposed class action in New York federal court accusing the auto insurance provider of allegedly failing to protect driver’s license information from unauthorized access.

The availability of that information leaves affected customers open to unemployment scams and other types of fraud, plaintiff Alexander Mirvis alleged in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
