FTC Rejects Spyware Company Owner’s Attempt to Overturn Ban

The Federal Trade Commission denied a petition by a spyware company CEO to dismiss or modify a 2021 order barring him from selling and promoting surveillance apps and services. The agency cited in its decision SpyFone CEO Scott Zuckerman’s non-compliance with the original order, including alleged continued failures to protect sensitive personal information collected by his businesses in 2023.
