FTC Lawyers Insulated From LabMD’s Retaliation Claims

A federal appeals court in Washington dismissed a lawsuit that accused two Federal Trade Commission attorneys of acting “abusively, unethically and illegally” during a consumer privacy investigation that has drawn congressional and judicial criticism.

The June 1 ruling highlights the impact of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions that have made it more difficult to sue federal officials for violating the civil rights of individuals or companies they investigated or prosecuted.
