Florida’s House of Representatives passed a privacy bill that would give consumers the right to sue over alleged violations, but it’s unclear whether the state Senate can approve the legislation before the session ends March 11.
House Bill 9, which passed 103-8 Wednesday, would give consumers the right to know what personal data is being collected and ask that it be deleted or corrected. The bill would require companies to provide two or more methods for customers to request their personal information.
